As we near the end of yet another season of "Grey's Anatomy," it's time for fans to wonder about the next tragedy on the way for the gang at Grace-Mercy, er, Grey-Sloan. (That still doesn't sound right.) After all, the show's season enders have a reputation for bringing big drama -- and a bus wreck here, a shooter there, and one massive plane crash.

But despite all the past calamities, show creator Shonda Rhimes thinks she's got a bad rap. Sure, she might write plenty of madness and mayhem into the plot, but it's not like she kills fan favorites all the time.

"Everyone thinks I kill everybody -- and I don?t," she recently told TVLine. "I was doing a tally, and I?ve only killed three series regulars, (while) four series regular (characters) just left into the ether somewhere to do other things in other hospitals. I don?t kill everybody."

Does that mean fans can go ahead and breathe a sigh of relief ahead of the show's May 16 finale?

Ha!

No, the episode, which is called "Perfect Storm," promises to bring gloom and doom and death.

In fact, "there's a lot of emotional death," Rhimes recently told The Hollywood Reporter.

And she's has continued to tweak the content of the episode too.

"OK, I said I changed end of GA finale at last minute," she tweeted earlier this week. "I said all bets were off. I said hug a friend. I love y'all. Dearly. #youvebeenwarned."

The superstorm action actually kicks off this Thursday (in "Readiness Is All"), with the full not-killing-everyone effects hitting on finale night.

Take a look a preview of how it all begins.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
